Abstract

The aim of this article is to demonstrate that by analyzing certain bibliographical data we can see which were the shared philosophical interests of the members of the schools and convents of the city of Puebla and México City during the 16th century. In addition, our aim is to demonstrate that most of the printed books from the 16th century that were acquired in these schools and convents were written with the same philosophical methodology that was developed in scholasticism and, furthermore, they were relevant not only for scholars in Europe, since they were printed there, but also in New Spain.
